Grant M. Scheiner
Grant M. Scheiner is a Houston criminal defense lawyer and principal of Scheiner Law Group, P.C. He has practiced law in Texas since 1992. Mr. Scheiner established a private practice in 1995. José A. Ceja
José Ceja is an Associate Attorney at Scheiner Law Group, P.C. in Houston. He is a former felony drug prosecutor from Arizona, where he was born and raised. Mr. Ceja has substantial trial experience, including multiple-defendant drug trafficking cases and serious violent felonies. His appellate experience includes successfully arguing and winning a case before the Arizona Supreme Court. Mr. Ceja is fluent in Spanish and highly knowledgeable in Fourth Amendment Search and Seizure law. In 2010, he joined Scheiner Law Group, P.C. as an associate and since that time has achieved outstanding results for the Firm’s clients, including dismissals, “not guilty” verdicts and the grand jury “no bills” in a wide variety of criminal cases. The newest Associate Attorney to Scheiner Law Group, is Macie Alcoser. Macie comes from San Antonio, Texas. For her bachelor’s degree, Macie attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, where she studied Political Science and minored in Legal Studies. She graduated with honors and immediately entered law school.
After college, Macie attended Texas Tech University School of Law in Lubbock, Texas, where her passion for criminal defense work sparked. While in law school, she participated in the Texas Tech Criminal Defense Clinic where she held a student bar card. Macie was appointed to represent indigent clients facing felony and misdemeanor offenses, under the supervision of two highly esteemed and experienced criminal defense attorneys, Patrick Metze and Dwight McDonald. As a student attorney with the Criminal Defense Clinic, Macie won the Top-Grade Award and Distinction Award for the dedicated representation she provided to her clients.Learn More
Claudia Hipps was born in Toluca, Mexico. She grew up in Los Angeles, California, and moved to Houston in 1995.
Ms. Hipps graduated from the High School of Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice in Houston in 2003. She graduated cum laude from the University of Houston in 2014, where she obtained a Bachelor in Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Spanish. Although Spanish is her first language, she elected to minor in Spanish, in an effort to formalize her communication skills to better assist Spanish-speaking clients at Scheiner Law Group, P.C. Additionally, Ms. Hipps is one of only 12 Board-Certified Paralegals in Criminal Law in the state of Texas.
Ms. Hipps joined the Firm in 2009 and is a primary contact with all clients, as well as tasked with office operations and management.
Ms. Hipps lives in Ft. Bend County with her husband and daughter. They enjoy socializing with friends, traveling, and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys. Ms. Hipps serves on the PTO board for her daughters’ school as VP of Communications. Both she and her husband also volunteer for Flags for Fallen Vets.Learn More
Deebra Martinez is a Paralegal at Scheiner Law Group, P.C. Her duties include case screening, client interaction, office operations, and discovery and trial support. She joined the Firm in 2017, working her way up from the position of receptionist.
Mrs. Martinez is a graduate of the University of Houston-Downtown Paralegal Program — where she finished in the Top 5 of her class — and Wheatley High School in Houston. Mrs. Martinez is fluent in English and Spanish.
Mrs. Martinez lives in Greater Houston with her husband and their two dogs, Suki and Suzy. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, coffee houses, and spending time with family.Learn More
